Sept 2nd.. Last Day in TianJin

Howdy howdy… our last day in TianJin City. A really smoggy foggy start and then just smoggy.
We are truly blessed.. Robyn slept through the night. She did one "status check" as I call it. Basically she just kinda moaned.. I touched her back and then she went back to sleep. And that was it. She woke up about 6:15am…which about the time we planned on getting up. And we had a total of 3 poops today.. I think. So at least we know things are now moving. Today I decided to go cold turkey to the Publix formula, which is soy based and not milk based, and I think that might have been it. Seems she might be the typical asian, many are lactose intolerant. I am too for that matter!

I was very proud of myself as I was able to keep the mess in the restaurant down to a minimum!!! Hardly anything on the floor. No dirty looks from the wait staff!

So.. we met our new rep Michelle in the lobby at 9:30am. She is just this tiny thing and very sweet. First she took us to the park. It was very nice.. lots of trees and walkways.. One woman called Robyn cute in Chinese.. pronounced as Keu-eye .. Robyn was so easy.. She never fussed and hung out in the kangroom thing we got and loved it. We only took her out because my back was tired. We walked all around and tried to picture it with a blue sky.

Next stop was lunch.. and it was yummy. Some REAL kung boa chicken. Had a slight spice and VERY flavorful.. then some greens. And we have no idea what they were. Michelle didn't even know and she ordered it! too funny.

Next we went to Ancient Street and got some clay figurines which TianJin is known for and walked around a bit. We went back to the hotel and it was close to 2pm.. and Robyn let us know that she missed her nap and she was NOT happy about it. We realized that she is all flowers and roses to her public then lets us have it when we get "home". (Can't wait to get home.. then we can have a REAL schedule.) We made a pact that when we get to Guangzhou we are going to do our best to "respect the nap!" It should work out for the best anyway, the weather there is like it is at home. So it'll just be too hot and icky during the middle of the day.. best time to be in and taking a nap.

Aww poor thing just woke up after only being asleep for an hour. Crying and crying.. must have gas again. : (

So we brave the airways with a toddler tomorrow. A three hour practice flight before our big one in a week. From what I've read online about Hainan Airlines is that they have very high ratings. Let's just hope that a few of them speak English.

Oh.. note: They use the teeny tiniest napkins here! I mean all we can get are cocktail napkins or a box of mini tissues. It's really annoying. I wish I had brought a roll of paper towels. Sheesh.

So that's it for today.. David tried his hand at KFC again. This time he did some research before hand online at the Chinese KFC site and did end up with a 6 piece.. and man it was good. KFC here is better than it is at home.

Captions for the pictures..

Frogs for lunch? They are fresh!! And quite large! Robyn's first spicy chicken! Family shot with Mouse Ears with TV tower in background, Michelle, Donna & Robyn, TianJin's "Eye" like London Eye. Chang Cantore.. China's Weather's Guy(like Jim Cantore!).. cute kid having breakfast.
