Our Own Fortune Cookies!: January 2012

Christmas was a blast. She had soo much fun and so did we. Her favorite present was her bucket of Duplo-legos. We've had lots of fun with those.

We were blessed to have so many visitors down for Christmas (month) this year. "Uncle" Zack came down right after Thanksgiving.. then the Bricks.. Her cousins Nick and Chris were here. That was fun. Then her cousins Becki and Kaki from Tennesee!!! It was soo exciting to meet and visit with them. And awesome that she has Chinese cousins in the family! My Dad's first cousin, Mike and his wife, Janet, adopted two girls from China! They are now 10yrs old and they came for a visit to Disney. Man we had LOTS of fun! When Mike and Janet went golfing the girls came over and played with Robyn all day. What fun it was to watch them play! Robyn loved being with girls. We have soo many boys in the family and it was neat to see "girl" play. So very different! And familiar! ; )

Sooooo....She is growing soo fast. Just within the last 2 weeks she's been speaking in full sentences and .. .and!!! since last Tuesday she's been wearing underwear for most of the day and USING THE POTTY!!!! WAHOOOO... She's pretty much there. Just has to get used to it. Oh and last week.. she mocked me. She had just thrown stuff all over the floor and I told her to pick it up.. then I started counting. ONE.. and she repeats with tone. ONE>. holy moly.. i was ticked!. TIME OUT for you sister! She was in a mood that day. She would not do anything. So I said. ok. No blanket.. now straight to bath.. dinner and bed. Texted David that he'll want to hurry home because she might be in bed before he gets home! She ate her dinner after a wash in the bathtub. And then .. because she is only 2.. almost 3. I gave her a second chance. If you can pick up all your crayons you threw on the floor you can stay up for a bit with Daddy. And she did. And got her blanket back. Oh my.. when is 16? now? At least she didn't roll her eyes. yet.!

We went to a Chinese New Year dinner last night and it was all very overwhelming for her. She was VERY shy and didn't do much. Just clung to me all night long. She liked the food, that's good. It was funny as soon as we left, her personality came out. It must have been odd to see all those girls that were Chinese like her in one place. Lots to absorb.

Well the big news is we are putting our house on the market. We've been talking about this for years and it's time. We are ready. It's right for us. We talked to an agent last weekend and she said very positive things about our house and our area! That's promising. I think we'll do well. By no means will we get when the market was nuts, but that was all false. So we are going to move to Atlanta. North of town near Duluth. Somewheres around there. I've researched the schools (Thanks Nancy for the tips) and they have a large percentage of Asians! One High School is over 30%!! now that includes ALL Asians, Indian Korean and Chinese. When you are that age you just want to fit in! How awesome is that! Also in they are some of the best schools in the state. And we will be buyers in a buyers market! wahooo! So wish us luck. We've been packing. We need to empty the house some before putting out the sign. We hope to have it show ready in a week or two! Soo much to do. We got our room and closet just about emptied and most of the Kitchen. Looks really naked without all those cows!.. but bigger! And that's what we need!

And so the rush to get to Disney for free for the last time, has begun. We've heard from all siblings and parents that they want to visit! So .. get in line!
