Splash Park!!!

OH man we had soo much fun at the Splash park with our friends! We have a group of families from around town (China's Lams) who get together once a month or so. That way our children get to see kids that look like them and mommies that look like their mommy.

Anyway the Dr. Philips Community Park splash pad is pretty awesome. She loved it and there is shade for us too! It was perfect on a hot day! Afterwards we had yummy hamburgers at Five Guys.. YUM!!!

Then later after nap, she had fun with some stickers I gave her. Luckily she just puts them on herself and really nowhere else!

Almost at the 11 month mark!

It'll be 11 months on Saturday since we brought Robyn in our lives. Can't believe it's almost a year! We are going to celebrate by going to the Princess Lunch at the Norway pavilion at EPCOT. We think she'll love seeing the princesses and I've heard the food is good. We are going Saturday, Sept 3rd. Gotcha day anniv is Aug 30th! Feels like yesterday and then it feels like forever ago especially when you look at pictures of her last year compared to today. I've been working on our scrapbook for those two weeks and she was soo little and oh my skinny!

Today we had our 2yr checkup. I found some Chinese growth charts and after looking at it with our Dr. (who we love) she's right down the middle for an Asian girl! how cool is that.. she's.. average? huh.. there is nothing average about this girl. I get countless compliments on how adorable or cute she is when we are out. And ya know she is very well behaved.. for the most part. I mean come on she's two! and she's allowed to be two! She's napping right now. She had her first shots today and they said it might make her tired. And she had a nightmare last night so guess she needs the sleep! We always let sleeping babies stay sleepin!

We are done for now with swimming lessons! Our teacher said there's not much else to teach her right now. She's SOOOO close to swiming without us having a hand on her. She LOVES the water and loves to jump in. For our last class we went to the timeshare that Ms Kelly (teacher) has. They have a nifty pool with a kind of lazy river. Robyn loved floating and swimming all through it. She really liked the gradual entrance to the pool.. it was very shallow and she was showing off to all the other parents around. Talk about one VERY proud parent! I was beaming! They all were so impressed with her swimming and the joy she had while she was playing in the water! It took lots of cajoling to get her out of the pool and heading home. It did help that she kept telling me she was hungry.. then would jump in again! Then I'd tell her well if you want to eat we have to go.. well hunger finally won out!

This Saturday we are meeting with the other Chinese adoptive families in town. It's at a Splash park and it looks sooo cool online! Dr Philips Splash pad if you google it. Great looking! Will make sure to take LOTS of pictures!

Ut oh she's up.. I can hear her stirring.. so I'm gonna quickly get these photos uploaded!

Happy 2 years and 4 months old Robyn!

So just so ya'll know this blog may take on a different feel here at there. Since I haven't been doing a baby book for Robyn, I decided to put those thoughts and things for her on here. I am the in the process of printing out the blog to put in a journal for her...if you were wondering about the permanence of an internet blog...

So.. little one. You amaze me every day! You are really starting to talk to me and hopefully less whining. Is that possible? I love how you say Popcorn.. it's mopcorn. and mackpack instead of backpack. But ya know.. I understand you now and it's really cool to watch your face light up as I repeat what you requested and see that I now understand you! You love your toys equally. You really don't have a continual favorite. Your favorite changes every few days. Sometimes it's Woody, then Jessie, then Bai Go and Maria. Now there's new animals... Molly dog and Puppy in the mix. You always have your pink blanket when you nap or go to bed. But you don't drag it around with you during the day.

Your favorite foods are: Cheese... any cheese! from cheddar to mozzarella, ricotta and blue cheese crumbles! olives! including kalamata olives! pasta, sweet potatoes, beans, chili, yogurt, berry sauce, peas, carrots, corn, broccoli cheese soup, spaghetti-O's, and of course, chips, cookies and any snack that is around! you are not a fan of potatoes.. except maybe in fry form!

You are almost swimming on your own. I am soo proud of you!! You amaze me every day. I have to remember to give you more "credit" sometimes.. stop treating you like a baby all the time. My little girl is growing up so fast! Your daddy and I count our blessings every single day. We love to share our stories about all the amazing things you do and say.

You like us to sing to you.. Your favorite songs are "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Old McDonald".. Your favorite movie right now is Sound of Music. you LOVE Maria and sometimes you fall asleep to the soundtrack!

I'm sure there is more, but I'm drawing a blank right now. There is a bird sleeping on my lap! And she's annoyed with my typing!

Thanks everyone!! Here are some cute pics to tide ya'll over!
