So this past Saturday we met with other families in our area who have adopted girls from China at a local park. Robyn was the youngest at almost two. She LOVED the slides! It was dry out so anytime she'd slide.. she'd pick up a static charge and her hair would stand up! Very cute. Here are some pics.
Last Thursday we had her big apt with CMS(Childrens Medical Services). It a great program for children with Cleft Palate and our plastic surgeon, Dr. Stieg .. I think.. is the head honcho for it. We got there at 8am. ew.. Then one by one each professional would come in and do a quick assessment of Robyn and give a heads up on things to expect, tips and well.. just TONS of information. We were blown away by the whole experience! Very cool. The Pediatric Dentist recommended a Pediatrician so we are gonna try them out soon. Not happy with our current one. All in all a really fascinating day and Robyn was a trooper. We were there 2.5hrs. I made sure to bring snacks and a few toys.. she was awesome.
Here are a few more pictures from this weekend. We took her for a spin around the neighbor hood in the convertible to see what she thought.. love the hair! Also she LOVED riding her Zebra down the driveway! We got a new helmet and she knows she has to wear it when we go outside with the Zebra or her Big Wheel- which she can't reach the pedals on yet so it's not that fun. Soon. She's just over 30" now! I found info we got from China back in June and she was only 28" then!! yey she's growin!
I got her new sneakers last week too. Went to the outlets and got some Stride Ride sneakers. She is much more steady in those! We had lunch with Debbie, Allen and Jamie afterwards. It was great to see them and we hope to visit them more often!
Also last weekend we went to The Bird Store to get.. well bird food and went by this AWESOME market just west of Kirkman on St Rd 50
http://www.1storiental.com/ we got all sorts of great food and stuff. Here is a pic.
We found that YUMMY Chinese broccoli/Cabbage that we LOVED in Guangzhou! And Chinese leeks.. the long scallion looking things. Some awesome bread, soy sauce. We had a great time! Robyn loved seeing all the Asian folks. And there was a really nifty blend of people.. many different Asian, Black, white.. latin.. Very cool!! I went back today to get a few things. I found those YUMMY elephant ear cookies.. or actually known as Umbrella cookies and got some dumpling wrappers and Rice Wine so I can try and make my own dumplings for Chinese New Year on Thursday! Xīn Nián Kuài Lè.!
One more picture. She was just being cute. She found her headband and put it on and was playing with the long bag of Kettle corn!
