So.. Yea I know it’s been a looong time since I updated the
blog..So here we go.
May…
For May well we got an offer on our house the last week of
May and was getting ready for the closing process for all of June. We began packing the rest of our stuff as at
first we were going to close Mid-July.
In June we had a great visit with the Moellers! Nancy, Steve, Emory, Sam, Ted, Karen, Kelly,
Katy, John & Grandma Nancy (Steve’s mom)
oh man we had GREAT fun. We all
got to take Kelly’s tour at Kilaminjaro and watch the fireworks at the Magic
Kingdom. We were there late; thankfully
Robyn napped midday so we were able to go see the night parade too!
We had a bad event
with Murphy bird one night when we were visiting with them at their hotel. One HECK of a storm blew through and when we
got home I found her not able to talk much and barely perch! OMG.. So that night I kept her warm. Next day she ate, pooped and perched.. I
called the Vet and she said as long as was eating, drinking and pooping because
of her age to leave her alone for a few days.
Later in the week I took her in and she had a VERY bad bruise on her
chest. She was getting better by then as
well. It took almost 6 weeks before she
was back to her old self. There must
have been a bolt of lightning that struck near the house and it must have scared
her. Poor birdie.
So June. David
traveled again to Atlanta for another interview. This one we had to pay for the airfare
ourselves. Turns out they went with another
candidate. But he was able to score two
free round trip tickets with AirTran because he took the bump on a full
flight! NICE! We packed more of our
stuff this month.. well I did honestly.
We took Robyn to the beach for the very first time! She LOVED it.
We went to Jetty Park because you can sit on the beach and watch the
cruise ships leave! That was cool. And
then had a BBQ with Aunt Beth and Uncle John by the playground! Again she had a great time!
The next weekend we went down to visit the Bricks. Robyn had
soo much fun with her aunt, uncle and cousins.
We had a feeling it’ll be a while before we’d be able to see them again.
July..
We were able to get an extension of the closing till the 27th
of July.. we needed it. Our second POD arrived
on the 16th and we begun to get the last of our stuff loaded up. The closing was moving along, sorta. Then on the night of the 25th our
agent called and said that something came up on one of the buyers and if she
didn’t hear anything positive by 5pm she’d call the contract and put the house
back on the market. Yea, we lost our
closing 2 days before we were supposed to close! Yea can you say stressful! We were moving up to GA that next Monday with
what was left in the house after the pod was filled. And Robyn and I would live with my folks
while David commuted every other weekend since he hadn’t gotten a job yet in
GA. I was approved to keep my Disney job
and work remotely. But it required I
work from GA (tax thing) so that’s why Robyn and could not stay in FL.. it’s a
good thing too….read on.
That Saturday the 28th, we had 3 different groups
come see the house. And we decided that
we needed to still move forward. We
would just leave the house as the ultimate bachelor pad for David until the
house sold instead of him staying with our priest and his wife at their
house(they kindly offered). The Day..
yes the DAY we were leaving and finishing up a family wanted to see the house..
we were in the pool while they toured it.
And they made an offer 2 days later.. we countered and then it was sold
for the same price we had gotten before but this time.. it was A CASH OFFER!!! No more crazy bank stuff like
the last one. Yea we got that offer and
all that done while we were in GA. We
took extra time off, stayed with Suzanne, went to a Braves game then moved our
necessary living stuff in with my folks in Pavo, GA.
So..August.
So the second week of August Robyn and I went down to FL and
we packed up the rest of our stuff into ANOTHER truck and closed on the house
on the 16th. I think that was one of the longest days of my
life. We finished up the last of the
packing in the morning, drove to downtown ORL to sign the papers. Eat something quick at IKEA, He left with the
truck and I deposited the check then headed to Suzanne’s with the stuff we had
left in the house for him. Gosh again.. another
flipping truck. Wish we hadn’t had to do
that twice. That sucked. After all was said I was with Robyn with my
folks in Pavo and David would work 8 days straight and have 6 days off. (back
to back days in a 4 ten hour schedule).
It worked for a month then it wasn’t’ working out at my folks. So Sept 1st Robyn and I moved to
be with Aunt Suzanne full time and now David would have to drive a bit
farther. I have to say, it’s been
better. Instead of a studio apartment
type of room, where I couldn’t do much after she went to bed..she has her own
room here and she LOVES being with Aunt Suzanne and Morgan(the dog!) There’s so much more for us to do here and we
were able to find a preschool less than a mile down the road. So she is able to
interact with other kids her age. And
she LOVES it. I have no drama whatsoever
when I drop her off. Not like I did when
I dropped her off at daycare at the YMCA.
So.. Sept. David came
up once and I went down. Our friends
were getting married on 9/30. I came
down the Thursday before and we stayed at the new Lion King Suite at Disney’s
Art of Animation. I worked on Friday.. it
was nice to see everyone in person! We
were able to get Robyn in to see her ENT, and her ears are fine. That was a relief! We also got to visit Aunt Debbie and Uncle
Allen. Man that lady can put on a most
delicious lunch spread!! YUM! Robyn
loved seeing them and Yogi their doggie.
That Saturday we went
to Blizzard Beach for the very first time.
We went with Riley & Maddy and their mommy Kate. OMG what fun. Maddy said it was the best day of her kid life
so far! I have to agree. We had a blast! What a great day. Perfect warm day, Blizzard was great for the
littler ones. We were exhausted! We went to Trails End at Fort Wilderness for
dinner and she crashed in the car on the way back to our hotel! Purrfect! Sunday we went to church in the morning, was
nice to see everyone again then that afternoon was the wedding. Wow beautiful bride! We had a great time! Robyn even took a nap between the ceremony
and reception. Anna, Thank you sister!,
brought a fun little toy for Robyn to have.. that was a lifesaver at the
reception! Again she crashed on the way
home! We put her in her jammies before
we left the reception. Monday we were
able to go to Sea World for free! I was
able to trade some tickets with a friend.
Wow it was muggy, I’d forgotten. It had been nice up in GA! Tuesday we got a late checkout.. hung out did
some laundry and ate some Pasta Bowl. Robyn and I flew back home. It was great family mini-vacation! Pictures soon to follow.
So here we are in Oct.
David had a few interviews and got called back on one last week. We are hoping to hear wonderful news this
week. I pray every night that we can be
together as a family full time again. It’s
been hard. I do have to say I will miss
being here at Aunt Suzanne’s house. I
know Robyn will too. We have really
enjoyed being here. It’s soo much fun to
watch the two of them together. Robyn is
soo lucky to be able to hang out with her aunt this much. I’m torn, I want to be in our own home and
yet still have this nifty feeling I have living here. Quite the conundrum. I know
God’s plan will come one day, I pray for patience for me and understanding for
Robyn. She kinda gets that Daddy has to
go to FL so he can make money so she can have toys(our best way to explain it
to her). But she misses him lots and so
do I.
I will do my darndest to keep the blog updated more
often. Robyn is going to be Dorothy from
Wizard of Oz for Halloween! She loves
the red shoes and the fact she gets to carry a basket with a dog in it. She wanted to take Morgan in her basket. I don’t
think he’d go for that!
Zai Jian,
~Donna
