On Monday I was let go from Disney after 20years of employment. It was a total shock.. I can't believe I'm a statistic of this economy! Well there is nothing I can do. Though it looks like with the re-org I would not be reporting to the same person had I not been let go. So it makes it less painful. So....add another page to our adoption story.
David is safe. He is union-hourly and Disney has to lay-off folks by seniority with them. David is in the top 23% in seniority.. so Disney would have to get through quite a lot of folks before he'd loose his job. And at this point, they've said they've had no plans to touch on-line cast.
I don't loose any of the "Disney" Stuff. Still can get into the parks and stuff like that. Still hurts though. All that time and poof I'm gone. Cleaned out my desk today. Wasn't too hard, already felt like an alien or not a part of the "area". Felt like when you go back and visit your high school...odd but familiar. Well I'll start looking for another job. I'm on administrative paid leave from Disney for the next 60days. That makes it less painful financially, for a little bit anyway.
So keep us in your prayers as we yet endure a new journey...
